The hotel had nice rooms for TV viewing but the heavy stairs were a bit of a workout. The location was a bit far to walk to town but still easy to drive to, with good-sized rooms offering limited privacy when opening window blinds. The dining experience was decent with a continental spread but nothing exceptional. The craftsman-style hotel was easy to find with plenty of parking.

However, the placement of the handicapped room on the first floor wasn't ideal for me. The location was perfect, just a 5-minute drive from downtown San Luis Obispo, close to the Cal Poly Campus and hiking areas. The dining experience was good enough to start the day, although it didn't begin until 7:30 am. The facilities were minimal but sufficient for a comfortable stay.
